MILTON KEYNES, Buckinghamshire – Volunteer registration for the 2023 GoFundMe MK Marathon Weekend is now open. Everyone who registers is guaranteed a souvenir t-shirt and a commemorative badge.

To register, simply go to the event crew signup page here: https://mkmarathon.com/eventcrew/

Race weekend runs from 30 April to 1 May 2023. The MK Marathon provides a premier event experience open to athletes of all abilities while promoting a healthy lifestyle and raising money for local and national charities. Volunteers are promised a fun and rewarding experience while giving something back to running and to our much-loved Milton Keynes on the Early May Bank Holiday Weekend.

Race Director Andy Hully said that more than 400 volunteers were needed over the Race Weekend. “If you want to experience the excitement of Race Weekend without training for a race, then joining our Event Crew is for you,” he said. “Our race would not be possible without the support of so many volunteers who help throughout the entire weekend.”

The volunteers are supported by managers and directors who help to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Volunteers come in all shapes and sizes, from individuals, businesses, and charities, to community groups, running clubs, sports clubs, and groups of friends.

The MK Marathon Weekend offers something for everyone including a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay (teams of 4), 10K, 5K, and a superhero fun run.

This year the multi-award-winning MK Marathon Weekend race village will be in Campbell Park, the premium event space in Milton Keynes. All runners will finish in the meadow below the light pyramid, before moving into the amphitheatre where they will experience a great festival-style atmosphere including tasty street food, bars, and a line-up of top entertainment on the stage, hosted by MKFM.

Race Director and Founder Andy Hully – who has himself volunteered at other marathons, so he knows what he is asking of his own volunteers – said: “We always like it when running clubs put forward volunteers too – they are the perfect volunteers really, as they know how to support the runners because they know just what it’s like to be taking part in the race! We look after all our volunteers well as the event couldn’t take place without them. They do a brilliant job, put in so much effort, give so much support, and make it all possible. All volunteers receive a briefing, and Monday volunteers will also get a free Subway lunch! They always enjoy it; it’s fun and rewarding – especially if you do it in a big group with your colleagues or friends.”
